Pomeranian hybrid dogs or Pomeranian mixes are a result of crossing two different breeds. The idea behind this technique is that it will create an animal with traits from both parents.

Breeding to the standard ensures that a breed’s unique traits and characteristics are protected. A breeder’s goal is to preserve and protect the breed.

Pomeranian designer dogs are a global phenomenon that people’s greed has largely influenced, and these Pomeranian mixed puppies are often priced higher than a quality purebred puppy from a reputable breeder.

Breeding Pomeranian mixed dogs are not something I agree with; If you have a rescue dog that is part Pom, there’s nothing wrong here, and I’m so happy to know you are giving this little dog a wonderful home.

The Pomeranian is considered one of the cutest and most loved breeds around. There’s a lot to love about Pomeranians – they are adorable, affectionate, and loyal, making them a perfect dog breed for everyone. I cannot understand why anyone would desire to breed Pomeranian mixes.

A Pomeranian mix is a cross between a Pomeranian and another dog breed. Intentionally or as a mistake mixing the Pomeranian genes with other dog breeds results in some unusual canines.

I have compiled a list of 20 of the best Pomeranian mix dogs we could find! Each Pomeranian mix has something unique to offer in both appearance and temperament.

  1. Pomapoo

The Pomapoo is the cross between a Pomeranian and a Toy Poodle. They are small low, maintenance dogs that shed very little and do not require a lot of grooming. Their small and compact size makes them easier to tote around town or take walks.

Pomapoos are playful dogs that can form solid bonds and make wonderful companions.

They have a longer lifespan than most, around 12 to 15 years. At a weight of only 5 to 15 pounds, this Pom mix is easy to handle. They are an intelligent dogs. Usually very responsive to training and quick learners.

  1. Pomsky (Pomeranian and Husky Mix )

The adorable Pomsky, also known as the Pomeranian Husky mix, is a designer dog that crosses the Siberian Husky and the adorable Pomeranian.

The Pomsky is an ideal family dog that is loving, playful, friendly, and energetic. They have an average height of 10 to 15 inches and weigh between 7 and 38 pounds.

They desire your attention and affection but offer unconditional love to their owners. Even though they are eager to please, Pomskies have their Husky parents’ stubborn and independent nature.

Pomskies are considered highly intelligent and need mental stimulation to avoid mischievous and destructive activities.

  1. Pom-A-Pug ( Pug mixed with Pomeranian)

The Pom-a-Pug is the Pug mixed with Pomeranian. A Pug Pomeranian mix full grown stands 8 to 13 inches tall and weighs 5 to 16 pounds.

The Pom-a-Pug is a cute-looking designer mix breed that is small-statured, lean, and identified by a short, muzzled, wrinkly face. They are friendly and playful and make a popular pet choice among pet enthusiasts.

The Pom-a-Pug is an adorable, tiny dog with a loving disposition, making them an excellent family companion. The Pug and Pomeranian mix flourishes in a family that makes them a priority!

Due to their affectionate and jolly nature, they can make a wonderful companion for older kids who have been taught to handle small dogs with gentleness.

The Yoranian is the Yorkie and Pomeranian mix. The Yorkshire Terrier-Pomeranian mix is tiny in size, growing only 6 to 10 inches in height. Their weight varies from 3 to 7 pounds. 

Friendly, loyal, bold, loving, and smart – these are all qualities that can be attributed to the charming Yoranian. Despite being small, the Yorkie and Pomeranian mix has a big attitude.

Oblivious to their mini size, Yoranians will courageously defend their family and won’t hesitate to alert you of anything they deem suspicious. They are bold and can become overprotective if they are not introduced often to people outside your family.

  1. Bichonaranian

The Bichonaranian, also known as Pomachon or Pom Frise, is a Pomeranian mixed with Bichon Frise. A full-grown Pomeranian-Bichon mix is a tiny dog, standing only 7 to 12 inches high and weighing 5 to 12 pounds.

Bichonaranians have the spunky and charismatic personality of the Pom and the docile and friendly temperament of the famous Bichon Frise.

They are very cute-looking, intelligent dogs and have an affectionate temperament. These Bichon Frise mix Pomeranian dogs are cuddly and loving, bond deeply with their owners, and make great family pets.

  1. Pomeagle (Pomeranian Beagle Mix )

The vocal Pomeagle is a Pomeranian Beagle mix dog on the larger end of this spectrum when it comes to Pomeranian mixes. They also go by the names Beagle Pom or Pomeranian Beagle mix.

The Pomeranian Beagle mix full grown will weigh 5 to 25 pounds and range in height from 6 to 11 inches.

Isolation and Pomeagles do not fit well and shouldn’t be left alone for long periods. Pomeagles are incredibly loving and sweet. An excellent cuddler and a wonderful playmate who loves endless play sessions and activities!

The Pomeagle is a healthy and robust little dog with a playful instinct, a desire to please, and a great sense of humor. They have a high prey drive and should be exposed to other animals early on and supervised.

  1. Peek-A-Pom ( Pekingese mixed with a Pomeranian)

Doesn’t the name, Peek-A-Pom, sound too cute? If the name is so cute, you would definitely want to know more about this cute Peke-Pom mix.

Peek-A-Poms are designer dogs that are Pekingese mixed with a Pomeranian or a Pomeranian mix with Pekingese. These good-natured and adorable fur bundles love being a part of the family. They can weigh between 3 to 12 pounds once they grow up.

People love Peekapoms for more than just their cuteness. These small guys have a good memory. They need mental stimulation to stay away from mischievous activities.

Peek-A-Poms are naturally protective of their owners and have a keen sense of hearing. They require very little room to roam to stay happy and healthy. With their small size, Peek-A-Poms can make an excellent apartment dweller.

The Pomston is the Boston Terrier and Pomeranian mix dog. They are quite small, standing between 8 and 12 inches tall and weighing 7 to 15 pounds.

They are intelligent dogs and love to play. Their intellect and agreeableness make them very manageable for novice owners. They make an excellent watchdog, alerting their family to anything they might deem a threat. Socialization and early training can help reduce any excessive barking.

  1. Poshie

The fun-loving little Poshies bring together the outgoing personality of Pomeranians and the playful but cautious nature of Shetland Sheepdogs. They are also known as Pomeranian Sheltie Mix, Pom Sheltie Mix, and Pomeranian Shetland Sheepdog Mix. They usually weigh around 20 to 30 pounds fully grown.

Poshies are known for their cute looks and extremely zealous disposition. These energetic, independent, loyal dogs will steal your heart. Poshies are loyal little family dogs that are smart, easy to train, and adore nothing more than hanging out with their family.

  1. Cockeranian Dog

This adorable Pom mix is a Cocker Spaniel and Pomeranian mix dog. They usually have the double coat of a Pomeranian with the ears of a Cocker Spaniel. They generally run about 10 to 15 inches in height and weigh around 15 to 25 pounds.

The Cocker Spaniel comes from a sporting background, which means Corkeranians, also known as Cocker-Poms, will need plenty of exercise to remain well-balanced.

Most Corkeranian dogs exhibit cheerful and loyal personalities. They are adaptable and highly trainable, making this Pomeranian mixes a great option for novice owners. So, be prepared to get the best of both worlds with this Pom mix.

Cocker Spaniels do famously well with kids, and the Corkeranians are likely to inherit this trait. This Cocker Spaniel-Pom mix is a great choice for families with children of all ages.

The Papipoms, also known as Pappom or Pomillon, can add cheer and devotion to any pet parent. These tiny pups weigh between 3 to 10 pounds, but that does not mean they have a small personality.

These Pomeranian mixes are fiercely loyal to their owners and very affectionate. They love to be the center of attention and thrive when they are included in family activities. Known for their curiosity and happy disposition, Papipoms are wonderful companion dogs.

  1. Pom-A-Nauze

It’s nearly impossible not to fall in love with this Miniature Schnauzer and Pom mix! They weigh between 3 to 15 pounds, but despite their size, they have a big personalities.

These well-behaved Pomeranian mixes are great with older children and make a wonderful family pet. However, we don’t recommend them for families with young children due to their small stature and fragile bodies. 

They are brilliant and love to spend time with you! They do not do well on their own and can bark excessively or take to chewing if ignored for too long. A properly exercised Pom-A-Nauze will be more than happy to cuddle up in your lap and give you endless love.

  1. Shiranian (Shih Tzu Pomeranian Mix )

The Shiranian, also known as Pomshi, Shih-Pom, Shih-A-Pom and Pom-Tzu, is the cross between a Pomeranian and a Shih Tzu. They usually have long coats and the main colors are brown, black, sable, brindle, red, and white.

A full-grown Pomeranian Shih Tzu mix weighs in at 4 to 16 pounds and ranges in height from 7 to 12 inches. You can expect them to be on the smaller side.

These lap dogs are friendly and playful with a moderate energy level. The Shih Tzu Pomeranian mix is very affectionate and enjoys the company of its human companions.

Their intelligence and agreeableness make them very manageable for novice trainers. They’re best suited for adults or older kids who know how to play gently.

  1. Cavapom (Cavalier and Pomeranian Mix )

The Cavapom is the offspring of two very popular little breeds: the Cavalier and Pomeranian mix dog. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Pomeranian mix dogs generally run about 12 to 13 inches in height and weigh around 8 to 16 pounds.

The Cavalier and Pomeranian mix is loved for its beautiful appearance and wonderful personality. They are sure to be lively and, despite their small stature, can be quite athletic. They are ideal lap dogs and companion pets.

Cavapoms bond very closely with their family, which can sometimes bring out their protective side. They thrive when they are the center of attention and don’t do well when left alone by their family. They are excellent family dogs.

So, if you work long hours, travel often, or are looking for an independent dog, the Cavapoms or Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Pomeranian mix dogs are not for you.

  1. Dameranian (Pomeranian Dachshund Mix )

This affectionate dog, the Pomeranian dachshund mix, is a favorite for small-breed lovers! They can weigh anywhere between 8 and 20 pounds. They are very loving dogs and generally bond with their family, especially one member.

While they have bursts of playful energy, the Dameranian is a sleepy hybrid who loves their naps and can make an excellent lap dog for pet parents who don’t lead the most active lifestyle. They generally inherit the adorable long body and short legs of a Dachshund.

  1. French Pomerdog ( Pomeranian French Bulldog Mix)

The French Pomerdog is the Pomeranian-French Bulldog mix dog. This Pom mix weighs between 3 to 28 pounds, which is small in size but big on cuteness.

French Pomerdogs might be little dogs but have big personalities. They can become territorial and make excellent watchdogs.

They are curious and love to be around their pack members, making them well-known as great family pets. These beauties are very sensitive and are incredible attention seekers. They thrive when they are around their human family members.

The Maltipom is the Pomeranian Maltese mix dog, two of the most popular breeds. They generally weigh between 3 and 9 pounds and stand between 8 and 12 inches tall.

Although the Maltipoms (a Maltese and Pomeranian mix dog ) are gentle, playful, and small, don’t underestimate their size. These Pom mixes know how to stand up for themselves or their family if they feel threatened. Small in stature but big on personality, these Pomeranian mixes are playful companions that will steal the hearts of all your family members. 

The Pomeranian-Maltese mix makes a pretty good watchdog, giving the impression of being fierce to ward off strangers. They can make an ideal lapdog due to their extreme devotion – they want to be wherever you are!

  1. Brusselranian (Brussels Griffon Pomeranian Mix)

The loyal Brusselranian is a Brussels Griffon Pomeranian mix dog. These tiny Pomeranian mixes are very bright and have a happy disposition. On average, a fully matured Brusselranian will weigh between 3 and 10 pounds, making them small-sized dog.

Known for their loyalty and devotion to their owner, Brusselranians will serve as your tiny shadow, following you from room to room. They don’t like to be left alone and need some companionship at all times.

The Brussels Griffon Pomeranian mix can be quite fragile and must be handled carefully. Because of their tiny frame, we don’t recommend this Pom mix for families with small kids.

If you’re looking for a devoted lapdog and a loving companion, the Brusselranian is a great option!

The Chinaranian is the Pomeranian mix with Chihuahua. Both of their parent breeds are popular choices for dog lovers looking for tiny pups.

How big will a Pomeranian Chihuahua mix get? Their offspring will also be very small, usually weighing no more than 10 pounds.

With a lovable, expressive face, the Chinaranian derives traits from its parent breeds. Chinaranians are generally friendly, lovable, and a perfect buddy to get along with.

Chinaranians can sometimes be challenging to train, especially when it comes to housebreaking. However, with patience and positive reinforcement, this Pom mix can be a very well-mannered dog.

Final Thoughts

If you are thinking of getting or owning a Pomeranian mix, prepare to spend a lot of time with your dog. With proper care and attention, they can make the best family companions.

Would-be owners need to know that creating a designer Pomeranian mix does not help to mitigate potentially harmful health defects that may happen commonly in purebred dogs. In fact, your chosen puppy will inherit issues and good points from both parents.

Before purchasing or adopting your Pomeranian mix, it is essential to understand that as a pet parent, you are responsible for the care and well-being of your dog. It would be best if you looked at your lifestyle and how accommodating it would be for the Pomeranian Mix.
